We are learning about copyright and fair use... and ways to work with it but also the realization of how to simply avoid it in our work.
Plagiarism
is theft of another person's writings or ideas
Stealing is wrong.
A video.... because it makes the point.
It deals with video a bit more and uploading online... but we associate it with digital work since that is WHAT WE DO.

Those of you that have checked out equipment... get it done and get it back.
Equipment DOs.. use it and make it count and work to get more than you may think you need...
DO NOTs.. leave it in your car, leave it outside, leave it anywhere! it is cold.. think about it.
This week's agenda:
Scripts will be edited and looked over by tomorrow to those that have shared their docs with me...
also.... if you haven't- you're late.
Exercises should be figured out and worked on... what do you need for footage? can it be done here?

Let's go...
Some quick editing know-hows to begin with.
Cutting audio and dragging that into your timeline.
Cutting footage and also dragging that on down....
Exercise work.
3 exercises will be done throughout this semester.
The first is due. 3/12/13
Exercises can be.... anything from light sabers, lightning, cloning, vignette effect... etc. After effects is a great place to start when we talk exercises and what you can experiment with.

Monday we start FOLEY and we get to work on audio and the magic it makes!
Lab Day it is...
If you are in a hurry... I will be sharing a doc with you soon.
This is your Comedy/Horror/Action script.
Please make a copy / rename it with your NAME / and I will then be able to see what is in store.

Walking Outline
Here are some guidelines...
EVERYone will be completing a walking video.
This will be done in class.. I understand that you have programs at home.
But Premiere is it with us and if you can find ways to work the two together.. GR8.
If you haven't gotten footage uploaded yet... today is it.
We want to start going over the interface and looking at various effects that we can start doing.
ALL settings for D-drive.
Today we will get in some opening titles and some end credits.
Unlinking the video from the audio.
Transitions... with most videos are simple cuts.
Music options.
Sound effects... this will be brought into play when Mr. Brittnacher spends some time with us.

Hi everyone...
We need to set-up the N-drive.
Work on the settings for image mixer CHANGE ALL OF THEM IN VIDEO FILE MANAGEMENT AND IMPORT SETTINGS.
N-drive gives you permissions for any kind of paperwork we need... and completed project folders.
We also need to get in and set up email.. make sure we are all on it, checking it and from there we will be sharing scripts this semester with google docs.
:-)
Computers:
Emma's station will be set up by the end of today.
The tower for Ben should be back with a temporary video card.
Zoe- this is my laptop... and your external HD.

This needs to be double-checked EVERY time!
THEN... we will get to Premiere.. and the set-up there.
